The "Foundation Stone" of Creation

Our sages teach that the stone under the Dome of the Rock is called the "Foundation Stone," for it is the very foundation of creation. It is the spiritual center of the world and the starting point of creation; all the prayers of all mankind assemble in this place before ascending on high to G-d. It was here that the Ark of the Covenant was placed within the Holy of Holies.
